We think the best learning you can get is by actually getting stuck in and learning from those around you so you’ll get real responsibility early on – within a few days you’ll be in your team working on real life issues that affect our customers.

 

Kickstart your career

We treat our graduates right – after all, one of you could be our future CEO. That’s why our graduate salaries start at £32,000. We also offer a generous £5,000 signing on bonus, as well as a wealth of benefits, including an annual performance-related bonus. We want you to be comfortable where you work too, so we’ve created our offices with this in mind.

Online assessment

Online assessment

After you apply, you’ll get an email from us. We’ll invite you to complete an online test to assess your strengths and compatibility for Capital One and the programme you’ve applied. This will allow us to help you develop the right skills for this area. Make sure you give yourself enough time, and work in a room without distractions. We know what we’re looking for in our graduates, so if the online assessment goes well and we think you’ve got what it takes, we’ll invite you to a video or telephone interview.

Done your online test? If we like what we see, you’ll be invited to do a short video or phone interview. It’s a stress-free way to see what makes you tick. Do your homework! Show how much you know about us. Don’t be scared if you’re asked to do a video interview; it means you can be in the comfort of your own home at the time you feel most relaxed.

First and foremost – be yourself! We want to make sure the programme is right for you and that you are right for us. You’ll take part in a number of different interviews depending on the role you apply for. These could be in the form of:

  • Case studies to assess those all-important problem-solving skills and test your business acumen.
  • Presentations where you’ll be given a topic so we can see your research and presentation skills.
  • Group exercises to find out if you can hold your own in a conversation without shouting over everyone. Can you run with other people’s ideas and all get to the solution together?
  • One-to-one strengths based interviews, for us to get to know you, and for you to get to know us.

It sounds like a lot, but all of this helps us to see how you’d work in the real world, so you can show us – rather than merely tell us – about your abilities.

Final interview & offer

Final interview & offer

If it goes well at our assessment day, you’ll be invited back one final time. At this visit, you’ll meet a director or vice-president for an interview. If you’re successful, we’ll aim to make you an offer within a day of your interview, so you won’t have to wait around. We always provide feedback after our interviews, whether you’re successful or not.
